About Murray Banks

Murray has been a professional speaker for 23 years.  His presentations focus on lifestyle and it's impact on performance, and he knows something about performance...he is an honored educator and a World Champion athlete. 

Armed with a Masters Degree and a passion for teaching, Murray was an educator at every level from grade school to graduate school.  He was honored for his teaching and coaching, culminating with Vermont's Teacher of the Year and the national Outstanding Educator awards.  At the same time he was acheiving educational honors, he was winning his first of four national championships in the triathlon.  In 1984, he took a sabbatical from teaching to pursue an advanced degree in educational leadership, write a textbook and focus on training for the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii.  Two times he has been one of the top finishers in the Triathlon World Championship.  More recently, racing the top skiers from Europe & Scandinavia, Murray won the masters for world championship in cross country skiing.

Murray and his wife, Janie, have been married for 37 years, have two sons and enjoy skiing and hiking in the hills surrounding their home in Underhill.
