Enjoy a plated lunch as you listen to keynote speaker Ann DeMarle, Director of the Emergent Media Center at Champlain College.  Learn how game technologies and emergent media are gaining force around in companies across the country and how Vermont get ahead of the game.  Gaming technology is being used as a resource to educate companies on turning "green", integrating social networking and training new employees.  Ann will illustrate how Vermont's "Next Generation" is intent on pushing creative technologies to the next level by integrating art and code with cultural awareness, creativity and communication.

Featured Keynote Speaker: Ann DeMarle, Director of the Emergent Media Center

Ann DeMarle is the Director of the Emergent Media Center at Champlain College.  In 2006, she became the first recipient of the Roger H. Perry Endowed Chair, established to support initiatives in promoting innovation, change and entrepreneurship at the College.  Formerly the founding director of both the Multimedia and Graphic Design and the Electronic Game B.A. programs, Ann used the endowment to create an on-campus center dedicated to emergent media.

In 2004, Ann was recognized as an Apple Computer Distinguished Educator.  Currently, she serves as an ad hoc member of the IEEE Computer Society Education Advisory Board.  Reaching out to Vermont teachers, she has mentored on technology in the classroom to ehnance student learning - as an instructor for the Web Project and as a founding organizer of Champlain College/VITA-Learn Dynamic Landscapes program.

Ann holds a BFA from State University of New York at New Paltz and an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology.  She has had a long career in computer graphics that include creating multimedia products for Eastman, Kodak and AT&T, as well 3D animations and illustrations for IBM Research.
